As you are aware, the City’s contractor has been working on Highwood Avenue preparing the road for reconstruction. As part of this project, curbs and sidewalks will also be replaced along Highwood Avenue from Western Avenue to High Street. A second phase of sidewalk and curb replacement will be performed on Highwood Avenue between High Street and Green Bay Road.
This notice is to inform you that beginning on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 6:00 AM, residents who live on Highwood Avenue between Western Avenue and High Street will not have access to their driveways for approximately one month as crews remove and subsequently replace the existing sidewalk and curbs and roadway.
Beginning Sunday, September 13th, we will allow temporary daytime and overnight parking on Evolution, Grove, S. Central, High St, N. Central, Funston, Palmer, Jeffreys, and Everts. You will not receive a citation for parking on these streets during this portion of the construction period.
We also ask that during this period, you avoid walking East-Westbound on Highwood Avenue due to the lack of sidewalks.
Additional notices and changes to this schedule may be required as we continue through the project.
