The City of Highwood would like to again thank residents that live on Highwood Avenue, North Avenue and Pleasant Avenue for their patience during this construction. Early this week the contractor is pouring concrete on Highwood Avenue and North Avenue to finish the remaining curbs and sidewalks. They are also completing the grading of Highwood Avenue in preparation to put down the first course of asphalt at the end of this week. There is some prep work to be completed on North Avenue and that will see asphalt as well.
Some residents have called with concerns that the new sidewalk does not match their driveway aprons or walkways. The contractor is fixing the concrete to match once all the new sidewalks and curbs are poured. Please contact City Hall with any questions at 847-432-1924.
