[ARCHIVED] Main Sanitary Sewer Lining to Occur on Highwood Ave, North Ave and Pleasant Ave 12/9-12/18

Between Wednesday, December 9th and Friday, December 18th the City’s contractor Visu-Sewer, Inc will start lining the main sewer on Highwood Avenue, North Avenue and a portion of Pleasant Avenue. This lining will dramatically increase the lifetime of the infrastructure without requiring full replacement of the lines.

Each section of the work will take one day, approximately six to eight hours, to complete. Visu-Sewer Inc will provide you 24 hours advanced notice of the sewer lining in your section to be performed. The notice will be an orange door hanger tag with the date and time of the lining. Please look for this notice between December 8th and December 18th.

During the work, sewer laterals in that area will be temporarily disconnected from the main sewer. To avoid sanitary sewer backups during the time of lining we ask that you only use your toilet when absolutely necessary and do not use washing machines, dishwashers, bath tubs, showers and sinks.
Over use of your sanitary service line will cause a sanitary backup to occur in your home during the lining process. Once crews have completed the lining, you can resume regular sanitary sewer production.

Additional notices and changes to this schedule may be required as we continue through the project. For the most up to date information, please visit the City’s website www.cityofhighwood.org and sign up for email and text construction alerts by selecting the Notify Me button and “Newsflashes”.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this construction period. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call City Hall at 847-432-1924.
