Crack Sealing Starts Next Week
TO: Impacted Business and Property Owners
LOCATION: Sheridan Road and Green Bay Road
PROJECT: The City of Highwood will begin crack sealing on Sheridan and Green Bay Roads over the coming two weeks. Filling or sealing pavement cracks to prevent water from entering the base and subbase extends the pavement life by three to five years. The process requires the use of high pressure hoses to clear the cracks of dirt and debris before the sealant can be installed. This results in a significant amount of dust in and around the work area.
TIMELINE: Work will begin on the
Green Bay Road (from Burchell to Prairie) on Monday July 9 at 7:00am. This work will take the better of a day, but should be completed by dinner time.
Sheridan Road work (from Old Elm to Walker) will start the week of July 9 and proceed into downtown the week of the 16th.
PRECAUTIONS: The City suggests closing windows and doors and refraining from exterior dining during the sealant process. The City will work diligently to reduce the disruptive impacts of this project.
