WINE & BEER WALK

Continuing to celebrate local businesses with its signature events, the Highwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 5th annual Wine & Beer Walk on Saturday, September 12, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with strict COVID-19 precautions in the place. The walk presents a unique opportunity to safely patronize local businesses people have come to appreciate during the pandemic and enjoy the entertainment and hospitality downtown Highwood has to offer. Twelve establishments are signed on to welcome participants with complimentary sips and nibbles. Several other Highwood businesses are offering special deals and activities at select stops. Wine & Beer Walk participants can start with check-in as early as 1 p.m. in front of Highwood City Hall, 17 Highwood Avenue. Registered guests will receive a fabulous swag bag featuring special offers and goodies from local businesses, a map of the Wine & Beer Walk stops, plus a commemorative etched glass as a souvenir to take home. Patrons also can make it to all 12 stops in style aboard party pedal cabs provided by Second City Tuk Tuk. In addition, local businesses have pitched in with prizes for an exciting raffle. Guests can enter to win dinner, show tickets, a Club Pilates party for 12 friends, a floral arrangement from The Silk Thumb, a pasta dinner from Pat’s Canning, and more. Tickets are fully refundable in the case of cancellation due to COVID-19. Early bird ticket buyers save $5 per person until September 1. A group discount for groups of ten or more also is available.
