[ARCHIVED] Packet Information Available from the Lake County Clerk for the April 7, 2015 Consolidated Election

The City of Highwood Clerk’s Office has packet information available from the Lake County Clerk for the April 7, 2015 Consolidated Election. Six (6) City Council Alderman seats will be on the ballot for the City of Highwood. Notice of Filing Period:

September 23, 2014
First day to circulate nomination papers for the April 7, 2015 consolidated election. Petitions may not be circulated prior to this date. Petition forms may be picked up beginning September 22, 2014 at the City Hall, Clerk’s Office, 17 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL, during regular business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

December 15, 2014
First day to file nomination papers with the local election official located at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 17 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL, during regular business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. If there should be more than one person in line at 8:30 AM or filing papers received in the mail on the first day to file for the same office, a lottery will be held to determine candidate placement on the ballot.

December 22, 2014
Last day to file nomination papers with the local election official located at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 17 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL, until 5:00 PM. If there should be more than one person in line, for the same position, between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2014, a lottery will be held to determine candidate placement on the ballot.

December 29, 2014
Simultaneous Filing Lotteries, if necessary, will be held in the City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 17 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL.

December 31, 2014
Last day to file an objection with the local election official located at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 17 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL 60040 until 12:00 Noon.

Questions regarding the Municipal Election should be directed to the State Board of Elections. A Candidate’s Guide can be obtained by calling the State Board of Elections at 312-814-6440 or on line at www.elections.state.il.us. Municipal Elections are administered by the County Clerks. The Lake County Clerk’s Office website is countyclerk.lakecountyil.gov.

The City Clerk’s office merely ACCEPTS candidacy documents. It is the responsibility of the CANDIDATE or representative of the candidate to ensure that all documents presented are in good order and compliant with all appropriate election law. Neither the Clerk’s office nor the City is responsible for the accuracy or legal sufficiency of the filed documents.
