The City of Highwood is pleased to announce that the proposed E 911 Surcharge Referendum that was included on the ballot this week passed with 69.62% of the votes in favor.
The referendum increases the land line telecommunications charge from one dollar ($1.00) to two dollars ($2.00) per month, per phone line. The additional revenue will be used to continue to provide residents with the highest level of dispatching service and alleviate the financial strain on the City’s General Fund.
