The City’s contractor has been working on Highwood Avenue preparing the road for reconstruction. As part of this project, curbs and sidewalks will also be replaced along Highwood Avenue from High Street to Everts. A separate phase of sidewalk and curb replacement will be performed on Highwood Avenue from Western Avenue to High Street.
This notice is to inform you that beginning on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 6:00 AM, residents on Highwood Avenue between High Street and Everts will not have driveway access for approximately one month as crews remove and subsequently replace the existing sidewalk and curbs and roadway. Additionally, High Street and Palmer at Highwood Avenue will not be accessible.
Beginning Wednesday, September 16th, we will allow temporary daytime and overnight parking on Evolution, Grove, S. Central, High St, N. Central, Funston, Palmer, Jeffreys, and Everts. You will not receive a citation for parking on these streets during this portion of the construction period.
We also ask that during this period, you avoid walking East-Westbound on Highwood Avenue due to the lack of sidewalks.
Additional notices and changes to this schedule may be required as we continue through the project.
