CITY OF HIGHWOOD - WATER BILLING ERROR
The City of Highwood regrets that due to a miscommunication with the water reading date not coinciding with the billing software, a water billing error has increased water bills for this period beyond the typical charges. This error added the following:
- Refuse/Garbage - 3 months instead of 2.
- Water Meter Charge - 3 months instead of 2.
- An increased water rate that bumped up the billing for water usage. This charge varies depending on your usage.
The following options are available to you:
- please pay the current bill, you will be credited in the next billing cycle for any additional charges, or
- pay your average/normal amount, penalties will not be charged and your billing will be adjusted over the next billing cycle.
We regret this inconvenience and we are working to correct it as quickly as we can. To provide some additional flexibility, the due date will be moved back to December 28th , as opposed to the 20th, and again no penalties will be charged.
