FREE TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE FOR LOW-INCOME TAXPAYERS
Moraine Township partners with IRS to offer free income tax return preparation for low-and-moderate-income taxpayers from February 4, 2023 through April 15, 2023 for preparation of 2022 tax filings.
The program is offered through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Volunteers are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to prepare basic returns for taxpayers earning less than $60,000.

To keep taxpayers and volunteers safe, tax preparation will be remote again this year, but volunteers will be available Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and noon for taxpayers to drop off their tax documents at the Township office, 800 Central Avenue, Highland Park. Volunteers will review taxpayer documents and call with questions.
